Valravn

about

Valravn (Raven of the Slain), is based on the Norse mythological creature, a supernatural raven. There are many versions of the Valravn myth in traditional Danish folklore. Sometimes they are described as originating from ravens who ate the bodies of the dead on the battlefield and transformed into a knight after eating the heart of a child. In another version of the late 1800s, when a king or chieftain was killed in battle and not found and buried, ravens were said to eat him becoming valravne. The valravne that ate the king’s heart gained human knowledge. They were evil creatures performing malicious acts, leading people astray, had superhuman powers, and were “terrible animals”.(wiki)

In my track, my Valravn sits in his cave, kept company by his 'Twa Corbies'. This track was created using just a short clip of a raven cawing.
